A man in Maharashtra has been arrested for allegedly setting his wife on fire after she gave birth to their third daughter. This tragic event happened in Parbhani district, about 520 kilometers from Mumbai. The man, Kundlik Uttam Kale, 32, would often tease his wife, Maina, for having three daughters and would get into fights with her over it.

On Thursday night, after one of their arguments, Kale poured petrol on Maina and lit her on fire. She ran out of their house screaming for help. People nearby tried to put out the flames, but she was badly burnt and died while being taken to the hospital.

The police are treating this as a murder case and have arrested Kale. They mentioned that he might face serious charges for his actions.

In another sad story from Jharkhand, a government worker’s wife set herself on fire at their home. She died from her injuries after being treated at two hospitals. After her death, police filed a case against Ashok Kumar, the Sub-Divisional Officer, and some of his family members. The victim’s brother said that the couple had arguments, especially after Kumar was promoted at work and had an affair.

Even though Kumar says he tried to save his wife and got burned himself, the police are investigating the matter. They assured that they would not show any leniency to Kumar if he is found guilty. Meanwhile, the woman’s family protested at the police station, demanding justice for her death.
