Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah stunned the Australian cricket team once again by taking four out of six wickets during the fourth Test match in Melbourne. With these wickets, he also celebrated a major achievement—his 200th Test wicket!

Bumrah made history as the first bowler ever to reach 200 Test wickets with an average score below 20, which is a remarkable feat. He got to this milestone after bowling 8484 legal deliveries, making him the fastest Indian bowler to do so. He beat the previous record held by Mohammed Shami, who reached 200 wickets after bowling 9896 times.

Bumrah is now ranked as the fourth-fastest bowler overall to achieve 200 wickets, following Waqar Younis, Dale Steyn, and Kagiso Rabada. He maintained an incredible bowling average of 19.56, meaning he only gave away 3912 runs to reach this achievement. This also surpassed the famous West Indies bowler Joel Garner, who previously held the record with 4067 runs conceded.

– Dale Steyn: 7848 balls
