Ayodhya is getting ready to welcome a huge number of visitors during January and February because many people will be visiting the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj and they want to go to the temple town to see Ram Lalla and get his blessings. The local government in Ayodhya believes around 25 million (2.5 crore) people will come from January 13 to February 12. On New Year’s Day (January 1), they expect three to five lakh visitors.
Ayodhya Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi shared that they think about 10% of the people coming to Maha Kumbh – which is expected to have around 250 million (25 crore) people – will also visit Ayodhya. So, they’re preparing for about 2.5 crore to 3 crore visitors during this time. Right now, 150,000 to 200,000 people visit Ayodhya each day, and for New Year’s, they predict the number will go up to three to five lakh.
The mayor mentioned that they have made all necessary arrangements for the huge number of visitors. With the cold weather, they have proposed to build a Tent City that can hold 5,000 people. They are also setting up temporary shelters and places for bonfires to keep everyone warm.
The Maha Kumbh-2025 will happen in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, from January 13 to February 26. According to Ashutosh Varshney, who helps organize the event, bathing in the holy water at the Maha Kumbh is a very important part of the ritual. At Triveni Sangam (where the rivers meet), millions will gather to take part. After their holy dip, many will visit Ayodhya to see Lord Ram, which will be an extra special moment for them.
