Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh died on Thursday night after being taken to AIIMS hospital in Delhi. On Friday, actor and comedian Vir Das shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, encouraging people to look up Manmohan Singh’s resume online. He called it “awe-inspiring.”
In his post, Das wrote, “Do yourself a favor and Google Dr. Manmohan Singh’s resume. Read just the education part, then the whole thing. It’s amazing!”
Singh’s eight-page resume shows his impressive education, including a Ph.D. in Economics from Oxford University, along with his significant contributions to the economy.
He was the 13th Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014 and is celebrated for leading India’s economic liberalization in 1991, which changed the country’s economy for the better. Singh was known for his honesty, humility, and visionary ideas, and his time in office has greatly influenced India’s growth and reputation around the world.

Many leaders and celebrities expressed their sadness over his passing. The government plans to announce a week of national mourning in memory of Manmohan Singh. Prime Minister Modi remembered his discussions with Singh, saying, “I interacted regularly with Dr. Manmohan Singh when he was Prime Minister, and I was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. His wisdom and humility stood out.”
