Kotputli, Rajasthan (India) – December 27: Rescue teams are working hard to save a three-year-old girl trapped in a borewell in Kotputli, but rainy weather is making things tough. The girl fell into the borewell while playing in her father’s farm on December 23.
Since Thursday night, it has been raining, making the ground slippery and dangerous for the rescue workers. They are trying to weld and lower a special casing pipe into the hole to help protect the rescuers as they work. A member of the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) said, “We are finding it hard to do our work because of the rain. But we want to rescue the girl no matter what. We have already dug down and the casing pipe will help us keep the area stable.”
On Tuesday, rescuers managed to pull the girl up about 30 feet using clips. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Brajesh Chaudhary, promised that the main goal is to bring the girl out safe. Officials say she was around 150 feet down, but oxygen is being supplied to her continuously. Cameras are also set up to monitor the situation.
Local authorities, along with the medical team, have been on-site since the incident.
