Melbourne – Sam Konstas made a big splash in his first Test match, impressing everyone by scoring 60 runs off just 65 balls during the Boxing Day Test. Facing the famous Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah might seem tough, but for Sam, it felt like a piece of cake. His brother Billy shared an interesting story about their dad’s mistake from when they were kids. One day, Dad set up a bowling machine to throw balls at 90 miles per hour, thinking it was 90 kilometers per hour. Sam hit the ball perfectly, and ever since he was about five or six, he dreamed of playing cricket at such a high level.
Sam’s brave approach and strong hitting helped Australia finish the first day of the Test at 311 runs for six wickets. Billy, who is a physiotherapist, also mentioned that before the game, Sam was very calm and even asked for a back massage. When Billy asked how many runs he would score, Sam confidently replied, “Don’t worry, I will score a few.” Although Sam was relaxed, his family felt nervous as they watched him play. They all felt proud and excited to see him live out his dream.
