Goa’s Director General of Police, Alok Kumar, explained that the police have made special plans for the Christmas and New Year festivities. They’ve sent out extra officers to places where many tourists go.
In Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, the police are also on high alert. Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra mentioned that they are working hard to keep the celebrations peaceful. They are taking serious action against anyone caught driving while drunk, and traffic officers are regularly using breathalyzers for checks.
