India’s fast bowler, Mohammed Shami, will not be going to Australia for the last two test matches. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said he is not fit enough to play.

Recently, after the Gabba Test, India’s captain Rohit Sharma asked for an update on Shami’s health. Shami had played some matches for Bengal, but fans were surprised when he was not picked for the trip to Australia.

On Monday, the BCCI shared news about Shami. They explained that his left knee is swollen because he has been bowling a lot after a long break. The BCCI said this swelling is normal, but Shami needs to take more time to recover. They are saying he can’t play in the remaining tests due to this issue.

Shami’s knee needs more time to heal. The BCCI mentioned that whether he plays in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Bengal will depend on how well his knee is recovering. The medical team is helping him get stronger and improve his bowling skills so he can play well in the future.

Rohit Sharma also said he knows Shami is playing domestic matches, but there is still worry about his recovery because of the swelling. Shami’s last international game was the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia in Ahmedabad.
