Some people on social media are really upset about a post on X that called for the “assassination” of billionaire Elon Musk. It all started when a user named Bill Shea shared something about Musk and a federal spending bill. He posted a screenshot from an account called “Republicans Against Trump,” which accused Musk of doing things similar to what they claimed George Soros was doing.
When Shea shared this, he said, “Folks, please do not forget Musk is the CEO of several companies. I say again, he’s a CEO. Do with that information as you will.” This caused a big reaction, and many users thought Shea was hinting at hurting Musk. The situation got so heated that Shea deleted his account.
The issue became even bigger after the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. He was killed outside a hotel in New York City before a company conference by a 26-year-old named Luigi Mangione, who was caught after a five-day search. People are upset about Thompson’s death, especially because many Americans are struggling with healthcare costs.
A recent poll showed that 41% of young people think Mangione’s actions were “acceptable.” The poll showed a big difference between political views: 22% of Democrats thought it was okay, while only 2% of Republicans agreed.
Meanwhile, Musk has been in the news for possibly giving a big donation of $100 million to a political party in the UK that wants to change things.
