Travis Head impressed everyone by scoring his ninth Test century during the third Test against India at the GABBA in Brisbane on Sunday. He made his century off just 115 balls and hit 13 four-pointers. Head came to bat when Australia was struggling at 75 runs for 3 wickets and teamed up with Steve Smith to put up an amazing partnership of 156 runs. Steve Smith scored 64 runs off 146 balls.
India started strong, with Jasprit Bumrah getting the openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney out within the first five overs. Marnus Labuschagne also had a tough time, managing only 12 runs before getting out to Nitish Kumar Reddy. However, Head played aggressively while Smith stayed steady at the other end.
At tea on Day 2, Australia’s score was 234 for 3 in 20 overs. Unfortunately, Day 1 was affected by rain, allowing only 13.2 overs to be played, and Australia was at 20 runs with no losses.
