On a visit to the Kremlin on Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They both agreed that the partnership between India and Russia has great potential for cooperation in the field of defence.

This meeting took place during the 21st session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC). Rajnath Singh talked about different ways to improve defence collaboration between the two countries. He conveyed warm greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to President Putin.

Rajnath highlighted how deep and strong the friendship between India and Russia is, saying, “The friendship between our countries is higher than the highest mountain and deeper than the deepest ocean.” He expressed that India has always supported Russia and will continue to help in the future.

During their discussions at the IRIGC-M&MTC, both leaders reviewed bilateral defence ties and showed appreciation for each other’s commitment to strengthening their relationship. Rajnath also thanked the Russian government for its warm hospitality and thoughtful arrangements for the visit.

Earlier, Rajnath Singh had a productive meeting with his Russian counterpart, Andrey Belousov. They discussed how to enhance their cooperation and strengthen India-Russia’s special partnership. Singh stressed that even though India faces challenges, they are committed to deepening their relationship with Russia.

“We will work together to make our defence partnership even stronger,” Singh said, reaffirming India’s dedication to staying close with its Russian friends.
