The Crunchyroll Anime Awards are coming back to Tokyo, Japan, in 2025! This exciting event celebrates anime and will be held on May 25 at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa. It’s the ninth time this special night has happened!
On December 6, Crunchyroll shared the news, revealing that popular Brazilian singer and anime fan Pabllo Vittar will be the first-ever special guest presenter. Many other famous people will also join, and fun musical performances will be announced later.
Voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira will host the event again, while Sony’s CEO, Kenichiro Yoshida, will start things off with a speech. A stylish orange carpet will let celebrities show off their looks before the show kicks off. You can watch the entire awards night live on Crunchyroll’s YouTube and Twitch channels!
Nominees will be revealed on April 3, 2025, and fans worldwide can vote for their favorites starting then. The awards will include new categories like Best Isekai (a genre of anime), Best Background Art, and Best Hindi Voice Artist, showing how global the love for anime is becoming.
The eligibility period for nominees has grown to include anime released from October 1, 2023, to December 31, 2024, covering five seasons!
