In a recent pink-ball Test match, Indian cricket stars Ravichandran Ashwin and captain Rohit Sharma were surprised by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant’s lack of excitement during an appeal for a wicket. It happened on Day 2 when Ashwin took the wicket of Australian batsman Mitchell Marsh. While Pant did shout for the catch, he didn’t seem very enthusiastic afterward, which caught the attention of Rohit Sharma. Rohit even spoke to Pant after the celebration because he expected a more lively reaction from him, since Pant is usually known for being very vocal and energetic. In the end, Marsh was given out by the umpire after scoring just 9 runs.

On the same day, Travis Head from Australia played impressively, scoring a quick century and pushing Australia’s lead to over 100 runs. He reached his 100 runs in just 111 balls and hit many boundaries all around the field. He partnered with Marnus Labuschagne, who made 64 runs, to build a good partnership of 65 runs. However, Nitish Kumar Reddy helped India by taking Labuschagne’s wicket with a fantastic catch from Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Starting the day with a score of 86-1, Australia faced a stronger attack from the Indian bowlers. Jasprit Bumrah bowled accurately, while Mohammed Siraj made better deliveries than the first day. This led to two quick wickets in just 40 minutes. Opening batsman Nathan McSweeney was caught behind for 39 runs. He and Labuschagne had a good partnership of 67 runs before Bumrah broke through. Bumrah also took another wicket in the morning when Steve Smith was out for just 2 runs.
