OnePlus is set to launch its newest flagship phone, the OnePlus 13, in India next month, January. This phone will come with top-notch features, including the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Along with the OnePlus 13, there’s also talk about a new model called the OnePlus 13R. Just like the previous models, like the OnePlus 11R and OnePlus 12R, the 13R is expected to provide good value for its price, offering many flagship features at a cheaper cost.
Performance:
The OnePlus 13 will feature the fast Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which is based on advanced 3nm technology. The OnePlus 13R, while not as powerful, is likely to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is still very capable. Both phones are expected to have up to 16GB of RAM, but storage options may differ.
Display:
The OnePlus 13 will have a large 6.82-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. It will also have great brightness levels (up to 4500 nits). The OnePlus 13R may have a slightly smaller 6.78-inch AMOLED screen but will also support a 120Hz refresh rate.
Camera:
The OnePlus 13 is expected to have a top-tier camera system, including three 50MP cameras, tuned by Hasselblad, which means better photos, and a 32MP front camera for selfies. The OnePlus 13R will have a similar setup but might use a 16MP front camera for selfies.
Battery and Features:
Both phones will likely come with a big 6000mAh battery. The OnePlus 13 will support faster charging with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. In contrast, the OnePlus 13R might support only 80W wired charging and may not feature wireless charging at all.
For security, the OnePlus 13 is expected to have an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, while the OnePlus 13R may use an older optical scanner. Both devices are likely to get an IP rating for water and dust resistance, but the OnePlus 13 could be more advanced.
Software:
Both will run on Android 15 with Oxygen OS 15 on top, giving users a smooth experience.
Price:
Historically, the R models are priced between ₹40,000 to ₹50,000, while the main flagship models cost between ₹60,000 to ₹70,000. Following this pattern, the OnePlus 13 could be priced competitively with other high-end phones.
