Russian President Vladimir Putin recently praised U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, calling him smart and experienced. However, he shared concerns over Trump’s safety, especially after two serious attempts on his life.

In July, Trump was hurt in a shooting in Pennsylvania. Later, in September, a man faced charges for trying to shoot Trump while he was at a golf course in Florida. Speaking in Kazakhstan after a meeting, Putin expressed his disbelief about how the U.S. election turned out. He criticized the harsh ways some people fought against Trump during the campaign, including the assassination attempts.

Putin mentioned he felt bad for Trump’s family, who faced a lot of unfair criticism from opponents. He said such behavior was shocking, stating even criminals in Russia wouldn’t go that far.

Also, Putin commented on the Biden administration’s support for Ukraine in the war, suggesting it might either help or hurt Trump’s situation. But he was hopeful that Trump would find a way to handle things, adding that Moscow is open to talking.
